We're Having A Baby!

We are expecting our first baby within the next month and a half.
Here are some pictures from when James put together the crib and the change table. The pictures of the belly are from July 1st. I was 33 weeks along which is 7.5 months or into my 8th month. Confusing...I just know I have a total of 6 more weeks as of Friday, when I complete my 34 weeks. Enjoy the pictures.

Valentine's Day Trip to Vancouver!!!

We stayed in Robson which is a shopping district. It was a nice place to stay because everything was on the block we stayed on. We even went to blockbuster and rented a couple of movies to watch back at our hotel. We were very impressed with Robson.

The ferry to Victoria was really nice, very scenic, but super windy and chilly!

James and I were both pretty impressed with Vancouver, a beautiful city we would definitely live in. You have both mountains and ocean, you can't beat that.

We also went to the Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park and that was nice to take some time to visit the belugas and otters and crazy big fish!

As a dog owner I was super impressed with how dog friendly Vancouver and area is. The feel was totally different people were happier, people walked more, and there were cute dogs everywhere. People in Vancouver love to interact with their dogs! We wished we would have taken Rex and Bear, next time!

As we were driving down Denman Street I looked up and saw this "Yoshi on Denman" sign and had to take a picture of it. For those of you who don't know Yoshi was my nickname growing up so that's why the picture... Speaking of things japanese... you won't be hard pressed to find a japanese restaurant in Vancouver... we finally found a mediterranean one because I'm staying away from fish right now because of the pregnancy.

We decided to go to Vancouver for the long weekend to get away from the daily grind and we had a fabulous time. On the way there I saw a bunch of road signs that said "Super, Natural British Colombia.." and I was like okay, BC is full of itself but...it is super, freakin' beautiful and natural looking.. Enjoy some photos! In the last picture you can see that James did not want to come back, I think he left his heart back in Vancouver. We had a great time and who knows what impact this trip had on my crazy husband who often quotes to me what his grandfather did when they decided to move to New Brunswick from Ontario. Grandpa called his wife up while he was on a trip to NB and said "I bought a farm in NB, we're moving"!!

Been a long time!
It's been months since I last posted. We've been really busy and it's been so cold I don't know what that has to do with anything except that it's so cold right now. Anyway lots of new stuff happening right now. The most important is that James and I will be having a baby in August. I'm at the beginning of the 4 month mark and counting. Its amazing how those news can change everything we've been buying things to get the house ready for baby. Life is great. We're spending the Valentine's Day long weekend in Vancouver. We'll be driving 11 hours over two days and maybe heading over to Victoria Island. We're so overdue for a road trip so we're looking forward to it. I'll post pictures from the trip when we're back next week.

Amanda comes to Alberta!

James' sister Amanda came to Alberta to visit her boyfriend in Calgary and her brother in Edmonton. We had a great time at my family's house for Thanksgiving and then here are pictures of yesterday (Tuesday, Oct 14) in Banff. Here are pictures of us going on the Banff Gondola up Sulphur Mountain which is 7492 feet above sea level. We started at 5400 ft at the base of the Gondola and we went all the way up. Always worth the ride up! After our time in Banff we left her in Calgary and made our way back to Edmonton. It was great seeing her again!

Swimming Lessons
Here are some pictures from the boys swimming lessons this summer. They both have learned so much that Brogan has passed Red Cross Level 1 and is ready to go into Level 2. Isaak is so close to passing that we're sure he'll pass next summer. At least they are both more comfortable with the water and can swim in shallow pools.
